Local wrestlers do well in Saturday’s Wolverine Classic

Several local youth wrestlers placed in last Saturday’s Wolverine Classic, which took place at Vian High School’s B.J. Traw Gymnasium.

The Sallisaw Takedown Club saw seven champions crowned.

Adain Holmes (age 6-and-younger division, 52 pounds), Jade Coffman (girls age 8-and-younger, 5154 pounds), Kylie Stanhope (girls age 12-and-younger, 98 pounds) and Harbor Hicks (age 10-and-younger, 131-138 pounds) all won titles. Hicks was runnerup at 140-160 pounds in the age 12-and-younger division.

The Sallisaw Takedown Club had a 1-2-3 finish at 52-55 pounds in the age 8-and-younger division as Gatlen Ruminer was the champion, Finn Morse was the runner-up and Dawson Smith was third.

Smith did win the 52-pound title in the novice age 8-and-younger division, while Ruminer was second and Morse third at 52-58 pounds in the age 10-andyounger division.

In the age 6-and-younger division, William Craighead was the champion and Maverick Coffman was third at 46 pounds.

Gabriel Craighead (age 6-and-younger division, 43 pounds), Parker Wilson (age 6-and-younger, 49 pounds), Bragen Welch (novice age 8-and-younger, 61 pounds) and Elijah Matlock (age 10-and-younger, 61-67 pounds) were third for the Sallisaw Takedown Club.

Fourth-place finishers for the Sallisaw Takedown Club were Connor Carrington (age 8-and-younger, 61-64 pounds), Kohlson Ferguson (novice age 8-andyounger, 64-67 pounds) and Charleigh Young (novice age 10-and-younger, 90-100 pounds).

The host Vian Wrestling Club saw 38 wrestlers place in own tournament, including 10 champions On the boys side, Kainen Hunter (age 6-and-younger division, 49 pounds), Rhett Bigbey (novice age 8-andyounger, 61 pounds), Case Holloway (novice age 8-and-younger division, 105 pounds), Daxton Stewart (age 12-and-younger, 92-96 pounds), Rocky Ford (age 12-and-younger, 120 pounds), Lex Branham (age 12-and-younger, 140-160 pounds), Zach Smith (novice age 12-and-younger, 88 pounds) and Marco Gonzales (novice age 12-and-younger, 160-162 pounds) all won titles, while Addison Sanders (girls age 6-and-younger division, 40-46 pounds) and Madalynn Turman (girls age 10-and-younger, 88-100 pounds) were winners in the girls division.

Keaton Gregory (age 8-and-younger division, 6164 pounds), James Constant (age 8-and-younger, heavyweight), Karter Rosson (novice age 8-andyounger, 83 pounds), Bentley Sanders (novice tage 10-and-younger, 110 pounds) and Josie Constant (girls age 15-and-younger, 165 pounds) were all runners-up for the host organization.

In the novice age 8-and-younger division, Cru Rutherford was second and Solomon Barnes was third at 64-67 pounds, while Kam Craighead was runner-up and Chase Qualls third at 90 pounds in the novice age 8-and-younger division.

Knox Branham (age 8-and-younger division, 58 pounds), Wynter Rosson (girls age 8-and-younger, 5154 pounds), Nacoma Drum (girls age 10-andyounger, 70 pounds), Blair Barnes (girls age 12-and-younger, 80-91 pounds), Brentley Smith (age 15-and-younger, 140 pounds) and Haydin Annesley (age 15-andyounger, 155 pounds) all finished third for the Vian Wrestling Club, while in the age 12-andyounger division, Creede Prier was third and Josh Constant fourth at 84-88 pounds.

Coming in fourth for the Vian Wrestling Club were Theodore Curry (age 6-and-younger division, 46 pounds), Cade Gregory (age 6-and-younger, 49 pounds), Reece Were (age 6-younger, 55 pounds), Tae Constant (age 6-younger, 60 pounds), Raider Davis (novice age 8-younger, 55 pounds), Hendrix Gates (novice age 8-younger, 58 pounds), Anders Gilbreath (age 10-and-younger, 70-75 pounds), Gage Hines (age 12-and-younger, 100-108 pounds) and Katie Reason (girls age 15-and-younger, 102-117 pounds).

Brushy Wrestling Club’s Liliana Guerrero had her second straight threefeat performance as she won the girls age 8-andyounger, 58-65 pound and girls age 10-andyounger, 57-62 pound titles, while placing third at 61-64 pounds in the age 8-and-younger open division.

Rylan Henry (age 12-and-younger division, 84-88 pounds), Avie Lamp (girls age 10-andyounger, 78 pounds), Jessie Bentley (girls age 10-and-younger, 115 pounds), McKynlee Cantrell (girls age 10-andyounger, 170 pounds) and Cooper Price (age 15-and-younger, 92 pounds) also won titles for the Brushy Wrestling Club.

Hayley Bentley was the champion and Rocklyn Johnson was third at 102-117 pounds in the girls age 15-and-younger division for the Brushy Wrestling Club.

For the Brushy Wrestling Club, Grant McInerney (age 6-and younger division, 46 pounds) was runnerup, while Hattie Price was second and Ezlynn Bentley was third at 4046 pounds in the girls age 6-and-younger division.

Kylie McInerney (girls age 10-and-younger division, 57-62 pounds) and Ruby Johnson (girls age 10-and-younger, 88100 pounds) were third, while Paisley Edgington (girls age 8-and-younger, 58-65 pounds) and Tristan Price (age 10-andyounger division, 61-67 pounds) were fourth for the Brushy Wrestling Club.

Two members of the Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling Club each placed twice.

Jettson Constant won the 83-pound title in the novice age 8-and-younger division, while he was third at 83-90 pounds in the age 8-and-younger division.

Stetson Andrews won the 70-73 pound championship in the novice age 8-and-younger division, while he placed fourth at 73 pounds in the novice age 10-andyounger division.

Hastin Chitty was first and Dawson York was runner-up at 43 pounds in the age 6-and-younger division for Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling, while Stryker Sandy was the champion at 155 pounds in the age 15-andyounger division.

Isabella Mannon (girls age 12-and-younger division, 70 pounds), Wyatt Chitty (15-andyounger, 92 pounds) and Beau Moore (15-andyounger, 126 pounds) were second, Jay York (age 6-and-younger division, 37-39 pounds), Stryker Randolph (novice age 12-and-younger, 110115 pounds) and Jentrie Constant (girls age 6-andyounger, 55-57 pounds) finished third and Everly York (girls age 10-andyounger division) and Laiken Andrews (novice age 12-and-younger division, 88 pounds) were fourth for Gore Pirates Youth Wrestling.
