Cherokee Nation December calendar of events

December 3

Cherokee Nation Innovation Hub is hosting a small business workshop every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Participants can join in person at the Innovation Hub, 215 S. Muskogee Ave., Cort Mall, second floor, or virtually via Zoom. For online, register here: https://us06web.zoom.us/MEETING/REGISTER/ SRIG01DPRPMDCGE0TDOOOG. This workshop is free to the public. December 5

Cherokee Nation Spider Gallery, 215 S. Muskogee Ave., in Tahlequah, will be hosting a two day Holiday Pop-up with a variety of Cherokee artists and Cherokee National Treasures. This event will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. on December 5 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 6. This event is free to the public. Christmas on the Square will be held in downtown Tahlequah December 5 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be festive activities taking place on the grounds of the Cherokee National History Museum, 101 S. Muskogee Ave., Tahlequah, including a train ride, letters to Santa, photo-op with a Cherokee inspired nutcracker, and much more. The event is free to the public. All fluent Cherokee speakers are invited to a free monthly luncheon held from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. every second Thursday of the month and hosted by the Cherokee Nation Language Department at the Durbin Feeling Language Center in Tahlequah. Gather for fellowship, a free lunch and door prizes. For more information, please call 918-207-4901 or email language@cherokee.org.

December 13

Cherokee Nation Anna Mitchell Cultural and Welcome Center, 953 E. Illinois Ave., Vinita, will host a holiday market featuring authentic Cherokee art and handmade crafts. The event will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Entry will be free to the public. December 17 Cherokee Nation Public Health is hosting a breastfeeding class from 1 to 3 p.m. in Conference Rooms A & B at the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center, 19600 E. Ross St., in Tahlequah. Participants can learn about WIC, breastfeeding techniques and more. Partners are welcome. This class will be held every third Wednesday of the month. December 18

Cherokee Nation Emergency Medical Services will be hosting an adult, child and infant CPR, AED, and First Aid Course at the Cherokee Nation EMS building, 22114 S. Bald Hill Rd., Tahlequah. This is a certificate course through the Red Cross. This course will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission is $50.00. Contact Mitch Bright at mitch-bright@cherokee.org for more information.

Cherokee Nation Veterans Center will be hosting a Veterans Christmas Party at the Chota Conference Center in Tahlequah. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be games, food, and prizes. For more information, contact the Cherokee Nation Veterans Center at 918-772-4166.
