The healthcare crisis in rural Oklahoma is not just an issue in our community; it is a crisis found across the United States in rural areas. In Sequoyah County, families face devastating barriers: minimal health care providers, limited transportation, lack of medical insurance, and widespread poverty. The limited healthcare options force community members to seek care across state lines or travel long distances to receive basic medical services, a burden many cannot afford.
