Roland girls get home conference win over Stilwell as junior forward reaches 1,000 points in prep career

Roland junior forward Ryanne Nelke eclipsed the 1,000-point mark of her prep career as the Lady Rangers defeated the Stilwell Lady Indians 61-34 on Tuesday night at the Ranger Dome.

Leading 13-9 after a quarter, the Lady Rangers (7-2 overall, 3-0 in NOAA Conference play) outscored the Lady Indians 25-9 in the second period to take a 3818 advantage at halftime, which became a 57-23 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Nelke scored a game-high 23 points to lead Roland, followed by Molly Carver with 16 points, Halle Freeman with 13 points and Lillian Cole with nine points.

GORE 70, WEBBERS FALLS 12

Tuesday night at Gore Event Center, the Lady Pirates (6-4) jumped out to a 24-3 lead after a quarter and never looked back as they spoiled the return of their former coach Staci Simeroth and her new team, the Lady Warriors.

For the game, Kennedy Williams scored a game-high 22 points to lead Gore, followed by River Shoemake with 12 points, Rayleigh Moore with 11 points, Sophie O’Connor with 10 points, Kylie “K.J.” McEver with seven points, Emily Daily with six points and Alevia Reasnor with two points.

In defeat, Allie Patterson and Paizley Turley each scored four points to lead the Lady Warriors (5-8), while Peyton Shanks and Abbie Patterson had two points apiece.

WILBURTON 58, VIAN 30

Tuesday night at B.J. Traw Gymnasium, the Lady Diggers (7-4) jumped out to a 12-8 lead after a quarter, then put away the game with a 26-5 second quarter as Wilburton enjoyed a 38-13 halftime advantage.

In defeat, Kiah Richardson led the Lady Wolverines (0-6) with 12 points, followed by Rayleigh Terrill with six points, Aliyah Tucker with five points, Emry Smith with four points and Gracie Buttery with two points.

MCCURTAIN 45, GANS 34

Tuesday night at Bryant “Big Country” Reeves Fieldhouse, the Lady Bulldogs (14-2) led 13-8 after a quarter, 25-17 at halftime and 38-25 after three periods.

In defeat, Skilynn Bird scored a game-high 17 points and Nora Barnes added 12 points to lead the Lady Grizzlies (5-9), while Valan Harper added five points.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Tuesday’s Central game against Cave Springs was canceled. The next two Lady Tigers’ home games will be played at Roland High School’s Ranger Dome, at 6 p.m. Friday against Warner and 6 p.m. Monday against Vian.
