Gore senior guard breaks 1,000-point mark

Gore senior guard Cain Cooper reached 1,000 points in his prep career as the Pirates routed the Savanna Bulldogs 5324 last Thursday night at Gore Event Center.

The Pirates (8-5) jumped out to a 13-6 lead after a period, which became a 2414 halftime advantage. Gore put away the game with an 18-4 third quarter to take a 42-18 lead into the final period.

For the game, Cooper scored a gamehigh 18 points and Eli Munson had 14 points to lead Gore, followed by Tate Brooksher with nine points, Kaiden Denton with four points, Cruz Ward and Gabe Hefley with three points each and Keeton Rowe with two points.

MULDROW 69, POTEAU 36

Friday night at Poteau High School’s Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse, the Bulldogs (8-3 overall, 4-0 in NOAA Conference play) clawed their way to a 21-11 lead after a quarter, which became a 35-16 halftime advantage and a 57-28 lead going into the final period.

For the game, Muldrow put a trio of players into double figures, led by Jesse Kilinc’s game-high 18 points, followed by Parker Sevenstar with 15 points and Teaguen Collins with 12 points. E.J. Zanders had seven points, followed by D.J. Massey and DeShawn Wilson with six points each, Jermauree Palmer with three points and Jack Pyeatt with two points.

WARNER 77, CENTRAL 73, OT

The Eagles rallied from a 55-50 thirdquarter deficit by outscoring the Tigers 15-10 in the final period to knot the game at 65-all to force overtime.

In the extra session, Warner outscored Central 12-8 to complete the come-frombehind victory.

In defeat, Gavin Randolph led the Tigers (5-4) with 22 points, followed by Josh Brunk with 17 points, Braxin Goodson with 13 points, Noah Buzzard with 12 points, Paitton Merrill with six points and Brycen Chandler-Eisman with three points.

OKAY 84, GORE 45

Friday night at Gore Event Center, the Mustangs got out to a 22-12 lead after a quarter, which became a 40-20 halftime advantage and a 65-24 lead going into the final period.

In defeat, Eli Munson scored a gamehigh 20 points to lead Gore, followed by Cain Cooper with nine points, Tate Brooksher with eight points and Gabe Hefley and Keeton Rowe with four points apiece.

ARKOMA 54, GANS 19

Friday night at Bryant “Big Country” Reeves Fieldhouse, the Mustangs came out of the gates early, jumping out to a 12-2 lead after a quarter en route to a 2410 halftime advantage and a 42-17 lead after three periods.

In defeat, Bryce Stevens led the Grizzlies (2-12) with five points, followed by Aiden Garcia with four points and Austin Hines, Preston Moore, Jessie Phillips, Preston Bennett and Jaxon England with two points apiece.

KEOTA 46, WEBBERS FALLS 34

Friday night in Keota, the Lions trailed 22-17 at halftime, but outscored the Warriors 29-14 in the second half to get the come-from-behind win.

In defeat, Thadan Yandell led the Warriors (6-10) with 16 points, followed by Chevy Cole with eight points, Gunner Shelby with six points and Cason Newcomer and Eli Hefflin with two points apiece.

LEFLORE 60, GANS 54

Thursday night at Bryant “Big Country” Reeves Fieldhouse, trailing 13-12 after a period, the Savages doubled the Grizzlies 18-9 in the second quarter to take a 3022 halftime lead. The Grizzlies outscored the Savages 32-30 in the second half, but their rally fell short.

In defeat, Austin Hines scored 18 points and Bryce Stevens added 16 points to lead Gans, followed by Aiden Garcia with seven points, Preston Moore with five points, Eli Blackmon with four points and Jessie Phillips and Preston Bennett with two points apiece.

KINTA 58, WEBBERS FALLS 33

Thursday night on Coach Jerry Ward Court at Webbers Falls Event Center, the Eagles flew out to a 12-7 lead after a quarter en route to a 29-18 halftime advantage and a 46-26 lead going into the final period.

In defeat, Gunner Shelby led Webbers Falls with 12 points, followed by Brutus Robinson with seven points, Chevy Cole with six points, Cason Newcomer with four points, Eli Hefflin with three points and Trysten Wilbourn with a free throw.
