Vikings get home dual wins over Ouachita Baptist, Murray State, but lose to NEO

The Carl Albert State College Vikings wrestling team won two of its last three home duals.

On Jan. 21 at Mick Thompson Fieldhouse on the CASC-Poteau campus, the Vikings defeated Ouachita Baptist University 28-11 but lost 37-9 to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.

On Jan. 14 at Mick Thompson Fieldhouse, the Vikings pinned a 2822 loss on the Murray State College Aggies to celebrate Sophomore Night.

In the win over Ouachita Baptist, the Vikings (10-7) got technical fall wins from Sean-Michael Gonzalez at 133 pounds, Kaiden Cue at 149 and Jory Garrett at 174.

Cash Bray at 165 pounds won by pinfall, Carmichael Gonzalez won a major decision at 184 and Braxton Robertson at 197 won by decision.

In the victory over Murray State, Sean-Michael Gonzales got a technical fall win at 133 pounds, while Bray at 165 and Liam Sherrill at 141 each won by forfeit.

In the loss to NEO, Sean-Michael Gonzales won a 4-2 decision at 133 pounds, while Brandon Schoenecke won by pinfall at heavyweight for the only wins for the Vikings.

The Vikings had their road dual Wednesday night against Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa canceled due to weather conditions.

The Vikings will return to action in the NJCAA South Regional Tournament in Pratt, Kan., on Feb. 14.

The Lady Vikings (0-2) did not participate in the 2026 NJCAA National Duals, which took place last Saturday in Richfield, Utah.

The Lady Vikings will return to action at the Midland Open this Saturday in Fremont, Neb.
