Abell wins Sallisaw mayoral race

Unofficial results from Tuesday’s Sallisaw mayoral election show that businessman and financial advisor Marley Abell has emerged as the winner with 409 votes, 55.1% of total votes. Ward 1 Commissioner Kenny Moody finished second with 308 votes, 41.5%, while Jeanne Lou Nettie Moore collected 25 votes, 3.4%.

The results will be official at 5 p.m. Friday when confirmed by the Sequoyah County Election Board.
