Cherokee Nation announces passing of David Thornton Sr.

Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. released the following statement Thursday following the passing of David Thornton Sr.:

“Today we honor the life and service of David Thornton Sr., a dedicated leader whose work strengthened the Cherokee Nation across many years and roles. David served on the Council of the Cherokee Nation for 18 years, from 1999 until 2017.
