Webbers Falls suffers home losses to Vian, Wetumka

The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors lost both games in their home three-way with Vian and Wetumka on Tuesday at Eual Carter Sports Complex.

The Lady Warriors lost 10-2 to the Lady Wolverines, who were playing their season-opener, then the Lady Outlaws beat Webbers Falls 11-2.

In the loss to Vian, the Lady Wolverines (1-0) rallied from a 1-0 first-inning deficit by scoring twice in the second inning and three runs in the third inning to take the lead for good at 5-1 after three innings.

Eden Girty was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, Halli Russell was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, Tressa Sandlin was 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs batted in and three runs scored, Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Jordyn Cowett was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Vian. Terrill (1-0) got the win.

Rhilee Jones was 3-for-3 with a double, Karla Bonilla was 3-for-3 and Katie Frazier tripled and scored twice for the Lady Warriors (1-2). Bailey Ward (1-1) took the loss.

In the loss to Wetumka, the Lady Outlaws scored twice in the first inning and five runs in the second inning for a 7-0 lead. The Lady Warriors scored twice in the third inning to cut their deficit to 7-2 after three inning, but they got no closer.

Jones was 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Lextyn Chappell doubled and scored once for Webbers Falls. Chappell (01) suffered the loss.

PORUM 16, GORE 1, 3 INN.

Tuesday afternoon in Gore, after the Lady Pirates (01) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Panthers erupted for 16 runs in the second inning to put the game into run-rule status.

Alevia Reasnor went 2-for-2, while Emily Daily, Sophie O’Connor and Mylee Bruce each singled for Gore’s five hits.

Bruce (0-1) took the loss, going the first 1.1 innings, then Camdyn Dotson went the rest of the way.

Gore’s Thursday game against Cave Springs was rained out.

LEFLORE 5, GANS 0

LEFLORE 7, GANS 4

Tuesday afternoon in Gans, the Lady Savages spoiled the home and season openers for the Lady Grizzlies (0-2).

In the opener, the Lady Grizzles were two-hit, with those two hits being a single apiece from Nora Barnes and Brighton Dorsey.

The Lady Savages broke a scoreless tie with a single run in the second inning, scoring twice in the third inning and adding two runs in the fifth inning.

Yesenia Gaona (0-1) took the loss. In the nightcap, the Lady Savages scored six runs in the fifth inning to rally for the come-from-behind victory.

Makenzy Hunter was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple and two runs scored, while Dorsey doubled with two runs batted in. Barnes (0-1) suffered the loss.
