Lady Pirates beat Indianola, lose to Porum in road three-way
PORUM — The Gore Lady Pirates split their games in Tuesday afternoon’s three-way, beating the Indianola Lady Warriors 15-3 in three innings.
However, the Lady Pirates lost for the second time in a week to the host Porum Lady Panthers by the score of 19-9 in four innings.
In the win over Indianola, the Lady Pirates (1-2), who fell behind 3-0 in the first inning, put the game into run-rule status early as they responded with a 15-run first inning.
For the contest, Maddison Douglass was 2-for-2 with three runs batted in and two runs scored, while River Shoemake doubled with three RBIs and a run scored for Gore. Camdyn Dotson got the win.

In the loss to Porum, the Lady Panthers rallied from a 9-6 secondinning deficit with a nine-run second inning and a four-run third inning to put the game into runrule status.
In defeat, Emily Daily was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Douglass doubled with an RBI, Sophie O’Connor doubled with two RBIs and a run scored and Kennedy Williams tripled with three RBIs and a run scored for Gore. Dotson (1-1) took the loss.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Central’s season opener on Tuesday at Cameron was rained out. Gans’ road game at Leflore was rained out on Tuesday. Vian’s road game Thursday at Warner was canceled.
