Gore School Board approves auditing contract

Gore Public School’s Board of Education met on Feb. 13 where they approved an auditing contract for the 2022-23 school year and accepted the 2021-22 audit as presented.

Gore Public School’s Board of Education met on Feb. 13 where they approved an auditing contract for the 2022-23 school year and accepted the 2021-22 audit as presented.

Under consent agenda items, the board approved encumbrances and change orders as follows: General Fund PO #254-293, Building Fund PO #24-26 and the Bond Fund; designated Teresa Craighead as assistant minutes clerk; and an auditing contract with Bledsoe, Hewett, and Gullekson, CPA for the 2022-23 FY beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023 for all financial audits.

The board also heard from an auditor on the FY 2021-2022 school audit where they unanimously voted to accept it as presented.

The board approved outdated classroom PC’s and related accessories, old baseball uniforms, a JD Reel Mower, and a JD Tractor as surplus for sale/disposal.

Board president Cody Sloan made a motion to approve Board Policy GKE-ECD-Event Center displays with revision of policy to include single team banners, with vice president Lester Keathley seconding the motion.

Superintendent Lucky McCrary gave an update on the District budget, spoke on a March meeting revision date, signage, an internship program, and the softball field light project during his report.

The board voted to table the Event Center court light project bids and approve the Lower Elementary cafeteria HVAC bids with Wilson Heat & Air.

Principal James Bliss presented on behalf of the school’s FCCLA sponsor regarding an overnight trip for FCCLA students. The board voted to approve the trip for the FCCLA to attend an upcoming conference in Oklahoma City.

The board also heard from high school baseball coach, Mr. Lewis, regarding an overnight trip for the high school baseball team. Mr. Lewis and the team were given permission to travel to Enid for the March 1617 Pioneer Festival.
