McALESTER — Muldrow Bulldogs track athlete Teaguen Collins qualified for state in two events at Saturday’s Class 4A Regional Meet at Hook-Eales Stadium.

Collins automatically earned state berths on Saturday as the regional champion in the high jump (6-4) and being the regional runner-up in the 400-meter dash (50.84 seconds).

On Monday, Collins was hoping to get at-large berths in the long jump, where he was fourth with a leap of 20-1, and in the 200-meter dash, where he was sixth (23.21 seconds). However, Collins did not get at-large bids to either or both events.

Collins will be the lone Muldrow track athlete at this weekend’s Class 3A State Meet, which will take place Friday and Saturday at Plainview Stadium at Plainview High School, located on the far west side of Ardmore.

Two Lady Bulldogs came close to making state as they were among those hoping to get at-large bids.

Genna Stephenson was sixth in the 3,200-meter run (13:54.84) and seventh in the 1,600-meter run (6:17.27), while Jensi Fields was sixth in the discus (103-11). However, both Lady Bulldogs just fell short of earning an at-large bid to this weekend’s state meet. As for other Muldrow track athletes, Maysi Fields was eighth in the discus (96-5), while Chloee Clark was 10th (13-8) and Gracie Prewett was 12th (12-1.5) in the long jump.

In the 400-meter dash, London Hardin was ninth (1:07.3) and Landy Pacheco was 12th (1:09.92), while Prewett was 13th in the 800-meter run (2:54.46).

Clark was 13th (30.12 seconds) and Kylynn Miller was 16th (30.52) in the 200-meter dash, while Emma Fields was 13th (6:31.54) and Isabelle Rogers was 19th (7:24.62) in the 1,600-meter run.

Rogers was 15th in the girls’ 3,200-meter run (16:56.44), while Kendal Howell was 15th (12:16.14) and Parker McLane was 19th (12:3.42) in the boys’ 3,200-meter run.

Maysi Fields was 16th (26-6.5) and Jensi Fields was 18th (26-1.5) in the shot put, while Howell was 17th (5:40.67) and McLane was 23rd (6:17.12) in the 1,600-meter run.

In the girls’ 100-meter dash, Hardin was 17th (13.94 seconds), Clark was 18th (14.05) and Miller was 24th (14.62).

In the point standings, the Bulldogs were seventh with 23 points, while the Lady Bulldogs tied Stigler for 12th with two points — which came compliments of Stephenson’s sixthplace finish in the 3,200-meter run.
