Kathy Albertson-Shelton MAC/RET/USN. Cold War, Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Duty Stations; Naval Security Group Activity Terceiria, Azores, Naval Facility Brawdy, Wales, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Navy Absentee Collection Unit, Dallas, TX, Navy Brig, Naval Station Guam, MI., Navy Security Group Activity, Adak, AK, and Naval Station Mayport, FL. Most memorable was the opportunity to be a part of President Reagan’s Guard Detail on his visit to Dallas during 1984 National Republican Convention. Worst experiences; death investigations and loss of personnel. Most favorite IS/WAS the relationships. Still friends with some since 1980. Recently visited a few Sailors, whom are now Chief’s of Police and/or high ranking officers in the Police/Correctional Units. Several of my Sailors that worked for me/with me are now teachers, truck drivers and in the medical field. Best part about the military is RESPECT, for yourself, for others...and MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR MY COUNTRY.
