Central, Gans, Webbers Falls place at Warner Invitational
WARNER — Several track athletes from Central, Gans and Webbers Falls placed in Tuesday’s Warner Invitational.
For the Lady Tigers, Alyvia Warner was runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles (52.94 seconds) and third in the 100-meter hurdles (18.62). Teammate Jhaselyn Gonzalez was seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (21.04).
In the 1,600-meter run, Central’s Ryleigh Pierce was sixth (6:46.06) and Rileigh Ford was 12th (7:29.05), while Cambree Bair was seventh (2:52.59) and Gracie Thompson was 14th (3:08.19) in the 800-meter run.
Central’s Paris Campbell was ninth (1:07.94), Kinly Lovell was 21st (1:13.97) and Xhayla Mosby was 34th (1:27.51) in the 400-meter dash, while Gonzalez was 10th (13-0) and Ford 21st (8-0.5) in the long jump.
In the 200-meter dash, Central’s Keeley Poindexter was 13th (31.08 seconds), while Lovell was 15th (14.73), Nevaeh Pollard was 31st (16.04) and Polina Lukasa was 37th (20.88) in the 100-meter dash.
Three Lady Tiger relay teams placed on the day, all finishing third in their respective race.
The 3,200-meter relay team of Bair, Campbell, Avery Warner and Thompson was third (11:27.77) as was the 800-meter relay team of Bair, Campbell and both Warners (1:55.01) and the 1,600-meter relay foursome of both Warners, Bair and Thompson (4:31.42).
For the Tigers, Braxin Goodson had the highest finish as he was runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:08.51), while teammate Joseph Lee was fourth (2:17.09). Goodson also was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (45.8 seconds).
Central’s Gavin Randolph was fourth in the 400-meter dash (55.16 seconds), Zachary Comer was fourth in the discus (116-6) and Tyler Busch was 12th in the shot put.
The Tigers had one relay team place as the quartet of Lee, Goodson, Dillon Miller and Randolph was third in the 1,600-meter relay (3:42.4).
The highest placers for the Lady Grizzlies were Brianna Burris and Aaliyah Taylor who had a 4-5 finish in the discus as both had throws of 71 feet even, but Burris did her throw in the least attempts to win the tiebreaker to get the fourthplace finish and Taylor fifth. Burris also was eighth in the shot put with a throw of 26 feet even.
In the 100-meter dash, three Lady Grizzlies placed as Gabbie Price was seventh (13.98 seconds), Stevie Pratt was 10th (14.65) and Mafe Reis was 21st (15.14), while K’Cee Osburn was 18th (3:15) and Vittoria Laggia was 28th (3:41.92). Pratt was 20th (31.7) and Reis 26th (33.12) in the 200-meter dash.
Webbers Falls had four athletes place in Tuesday’s meet. Eli Hefflin had a hat trick of sorts as he placed in three events as he was 23rd in both the 800-meter run (2:38.91) and the long jump (10-11.5) while finishing 27th in the 400-meter dash (1:05.06).
Clayton Roberts was 19th in the 200-meter dash (26.68 seconds) and 31st in the 100-meter dash (12.62), while Abbie Patterson was 25th (3:27.43) and Hailey Shanks was 26th (3:31.93) in the 800-meter run.
The Central and Webbers Falls track teams were slated to run in Thursday’s Checotah Invitational, then the Lady Tigers and Tigers are scheduled to run in today’s Coweta Invitational.
The Gans tracksters are slated to return to action in the Porter Consolidated Invitational on next Friday.
