Sallisaw City swimming pool officially opened Tuesday and youngsters immediately took advantage to ward off some of the heat that has hit the area in the last day or two. The same can be said for the Jay Reynolds Park Splash Pad where even younger kids frolicked in the various water features. The pool is offering a swim hour for senior citizens from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday at no charge. However, for all others, the admission is $3 per person. Pool hours will be from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Tuesday through Friday; Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.; Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.; The pool will be closed Mondays.
