They may be mailed to or hand delivered to Your TIMES at 111 N. Oak St. in Sallisaw. Chief and Deputy Chief debates, Chota Center, adjacent to Cherokee Casino Tahlequah. Debate hosted by Cherokee Phoenix. Doors open 5 p.m., debate 6 p.m. Tickets $5 each, and may be purchased online at https://cherokeePhoenix-2023Debates.eventbrite.com, or at the Cherokee Phoenix offices in the former Cherokee Nation motel east of the tribal complex. Seating limited to 600 people. Proceeds from ticket sales go toward establishment of Cherokee Phoenix journalism scholarship for aspiring Cherokee journalists. Debate will be live streamed on the Cherokee Phoenix You-Tube channel and Facebook.

Sallisaw Public School Title VI Public Hearing, 10 a.m., Indian Capital Tech Center in Sallisaw, MPC-Multipurpose Center. Purpose of meeting is to discuss plans and applications for federally funded programs with local tribal representatives. Buffington Cemetery annual Bean Supper Fundraiser, 5 to 7 p.m., Sequoyah County Fairgrounds. Menu includes brown beans, chili, chicken and dumplings, fried potatoes, poke salad, coleslaw, cornbread and homemade desserts. Adults $8, kids 5-10 $5, and kids under 4 eat free. Silent auction. Connors College annual reunion, 11 a.m., Student Union Registration. All alumni and friends of the college invited. Johnie Dale Denny, formerly of Sallisaw, will be inducted into the Connors College Hall of Fame.
