Promoting awareness

Sallisaw Mayor Ernie Martens this week signed a proclamation declaring May 7-13 as National Prevention Week in Sallisaw. On hand for the signings at the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library were members of Sallisaw NOW Coalition, Central Youth Coalition, TSET Healthy Living, City of Sallisaw, Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL), Sallisaw Police Department, Sequoyah County Health Department and Arvest Bank. The focus of National Prevent Week is to prevent substance use and promote mental health, and to recognize the achievements of prevention organizations and individuals across the nation.
