Lt. Col. Jack Lee Wofford

Lt. Col. Jack Lee Wofford
March 14, 1929 – March 15, 2023

Funeral services for Lt. Col. Jack Lee Wofford, USAF Ret., 94, of Sallisaw, will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Wofford was born on March 14, 1929, in Sallisaw, to Ruth (Floyd) Wofford and Tom Wofford. He passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He was married to Teresa Rose “Terri” Wofford on Sept. 22, 1951, in Richmond, Calif. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2017.
He was a Pilot for the U.S. Air Force, a retired Educator for Sallisaw Public Schools and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Judy Lamb of Sallisaw and JoAnn Richmond and Eddy of Fort Smith; one son, Glenn Wofford and Donna of Muskogee; six grandchildren, Shelley Clark of Tulsa, Bruce Wofford of Tulsa, Melanie French of Memphis, Tenn., Kevin Lamb of Midland, Texas, Sarah Marshall of West Fork, Ark., and Kelsey Anderson of Fort Smith; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Camilla Matthews of Spiro; and several other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; three brothers, Bill, Dewey and Carnie Wofford; and two sisters, Frances Panter and Phyllis Hill.
Active pallbearers will be Bruce Wofford, Kevin Lamb, Paul Matthews, Dave French, Zach Anderson, Mark Wofford and Gary Wofford.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Eastside Baptist Church.
Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The family will greet from 6 to 8 p.m.
