Sallisaw wrestlers earn medals at Brushy Christmas Brawl

Several Sallisaw Takedown Club members earned medals at Saturday’s Brushy Christmas Brawl.

Kyler Douglas was runner-up at 55 pounds in the age 8-and-younger division, with teammate Elijah Matlock third in the same weight class.

Kylie Kehl was third at 79 pounds in the age 10-and-younger division, while Finn Morse (age 6-and-younger division, 46 pounds) placed fourth.

Most of the organization’s members were in round-robin style events.

Jet Lusti went 2-0 at 46 pounds in the age 8-and-younger division, Briar James went 2-0 at 140 pounds in the age 12-and-younger division, Tate Clawson went 3-0 in the 105-pound weight class in the 12-and-younger division, Blake Taylor went 4-0 in the age 15-and-younger division at 119-126 pounds and Jade Coffman went 2-0 in the girls age 6-and-younger division at 46 pounds.

Jaxton Roth participated in two different divisions of round-robin competition. He was 2-0 at 120 pounds in the age 12-and-younger division, but lost all four matches he wrestled in the age 15-and-younger division at 119126 pounds.

Clayton Warner went 2-1, Harbor Hicks 1-2 and Ripken Eubanks 0-3 in the 105-pound weight class in the age 8-and-younger division.

Morgan Duke went 3-1 and Lucas McAllister 1-3 in the 119-126 pound weight class in the age 15-and-younger division, while Sara Lee went 2-1 in the girls age 10-and-younger division at 62 pounds.

Braxton Taylor went 1-1 in the age 12-and-younger division at 160 pounds to heavyweight, while Waylon Giles (85 pounds) and Sean Taylor (110-120 pounds) went 1-2 in the age 10-andyounger division.

Colton Patterson and Mylz Oft each went 1-2 in the 80-pound division in the age 12-and-younger division. Patterson’s lone win came in a pinfall victory over Oft.

Jacob Wassenburg went 1-2 in the 96-100 pound weight class in the age 12-and-younger division, while Destiny Clarke went 1-1 and Harley Smith 0-2 at 98 pounds in the girls age 12-andyounger division. Clarke’s win came over Smith by pinfall.

Coby Lynch (age 8-and-younger division, 43 pounds), Anthony Adame (age 15-and-younger, 155), Melanie Duke (girls age 12-and-younger, 91) and Montana Eubanks (girls age 12-andyounger, 105) all went 0-2, while Daxel Burkart (age 8-and-younger, 75) went 0-3.

Brooks Stanhope and Jade Coffman also represented the organization, but neither of them medaled.
