STROUD — The 2023-24 basketball season came to an end for the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs as they lost 42-34 to the Madill Lady Wildcats in Thursday night’s Class 4A Area Tournament consolation quarterfinals.
The Lady Bulldogs end the season at 17-10.
The Lady ’Cats virtually led from start to finish, taking an 8-6 lead after a quarter, which became a 17-8 halftime advantage and a 30-19 lead after three periods. The Lady Bulldogs made a fourth-quarter rally as they outscored the Lady Wildcats 16-12, but the rally came up short.
In defeat, Cailey Grinstead led Muldrow with a game-high 15 points, followed by Makynlee Morton and Claire Tabor with six points each, Katelynn Moore with four points, London Hardin with three points and Kennady Moore with a free throw.
The game was the final one for Muldrow’s seniors — the Moore twins, Grinstead, Morton and Tabor — as the other senior, Kennedi “Kiki” Wight — was out due to recovering from knee surgery.
