Gore students learn weather safety
Thanks to Gore Elementary PTA, students at Gore Public Schools welcomed Channel 6 meteorologist Staca Knight and storm spotter Von Caster to the school for weather safety. Students learned about various weather types, storm safety, and various types of weather to watch out for during storms. One student got to demonstrate how to turn around and not drown during flash flooding. Another student showed that wearing a bike helmet even helped to prevent injury during severe weather. PTA member Brooke Smith also demonstrated how electric charges near a person can cause their hair to raise. It was a fun time with lots of important information for everyone involved.
