Sallisaw girls win Checotah meet; Black Diamonds finish 2nd
CHECOTAH — The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds track team won Thursday’s Wildcat Track Classic at Ogle Field, while the Black Diamonds were runners-up in the boys division.
For the Lady Diamonds individually, Abby Kate Qualls won the 100-meter dash (13 seconds flat), while Emma Martin was eighth (14.11) and Ava Armstrong was 12th (14.47).
In the 200-meter dash, Kayli Macon won with a winning time of 28.25 seconds, with Armstrong ninth (30.69 seconds). The Lady Diamonds had a 1-2 finish in the shot put as Macie Gremillion won the title (30-4), with teammate Channing Wilson runner-up (29 3). Sallisaw hurdler Sydney Weedon was second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.89 seconds) and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (52.93). Also in the 100-meter hurdles for Sallisaw, Ellie Bryars was 13th (21.81).
In the discus, the Lady Diamonds had a 2-3 finish as Delaney Compton was runner-up (90-0) and Gremillion was third (84-8), while Hannah Palmer was second in the long jump (15-4).
In the 400-meter dash for the Lady Diamonds, Kylie Holt was seventh (1:08.02), Casey Brackett was 14th (1:13.3) and Michelle Laudan was 17th (1:15.07), while Trinity Cox was seventh (6:39.54) and Haley Birdtail was 13th (7:26.45) in the 1,600-meter run. Nicci Davis was 13th (3:00.34) and Birdtail 23rd (3:16.84) in the 800-meter run.
All four Sallisaw girls’ relay teams placed, with two of those bringing home the gold.
The 400-meter relay team of Jazmyne Wright, Qualls, Martin and Macon placed first with a winning time of 52.62 seconds, while Wright, Qualls, Palmer and Macon were first in the 800-meter relay (1:49.32).
The Lady Diamonds’ 1,600-meter relay foursome of Palmer, Qualls, Wright and Macon were second (4:20.58), while the 3,200-meter relay quartet of Davis, Holt. Wright and Cox was sixth (11:54.85).
As for the Black Diamonds, two individuals had runner-up finishes to be Sallisaw’s highest placers as Jodai Sama Salinas was second in the 3,200-meter run (11:28.45), while Cannon Martindale was second in the discus (127-0).
In the 200-meter dash for the Black Diamonds, Aaron File was third (24.25 seconds) and Kenyan Hill was 12th (26.03), while File was fourth (11.73) and Hill was 11th (12.21) in the 100-meter dash.
As for other Black Diamonds individuals, Tyler File was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (20.11 seconds) and eighth in the 300-meter hurdles (47.86), Salinas was fifth (5:10.42) and Alex Gregory 13th (6:16.43) in the 1,600-meter run, Cash Mayfield was sixth (2:18.81), Parker Frederick was 16th (2:31.02) and Sean Laudan was 23rd (2:38.78) in the 800-meter run, Austin File was 10th (58.87), Ethan Wilhite was 28th (1:03.75), Brodie Cameron was 31st (1:04.45) and Morgan Duke was 38th (1:08.82) in the 400-meter dash, Jackson Harris was 10th in the shot put (35-5), Gregory was 11th (13:58.66) and Morgan Duke 12th (14:07.17) in the 3,200-meter run and Austin File was 16th in the discus (9110).
As for Sallisaw boys’ relay teams, Aaron File, Cooper Cox, Cameron and Hill were runners-up in the 800-meter relay and third in the 400-meter relay (45.94 seconds), while Jonas Reid, Salinas, Mayfield and Ish Patel were fourth in the 3,200-meter relay (9:46.33).
As for other locals in Thursday’s meet, Gore’s Hallie Kinion placed in three events as an individual as she won the 800-meter (2:27.26) and 3,200-meter runs (13:04.27), while finishing third in the 1,600-meter run (5:56.4).
Kinion also was a member of fifth-place Lady Pirates’ 1,600-meter relay team with Emily Daily, Rayleigh Moore and Amelia White that finished with a time of 4:38.63.
As for other Gore Lady Pirates, White was sixth (2:49.96) and Moore seventh (2:50.12) in the 800-meter run, White was ninth (1:09.17), Kailey Mannon 12th (1:12.36) and Moore 15th (1:13.46) in the 400-meter dash, Daily was 13th (14.61 seconds), Sierra Pettit 20th (15.06) and Ricki Huckbay 32nd (16.03) in the 100-meter dash and Pettit was 15th (31.71), Mannon 16th (31.74) and Huckbay 30th (34.16) in the 200-meter dash.
The Lady Pirates’ 800-meter relay team of Daily, Mannon, Pettit and White finished eighth (2:01.3).
As for the Gore Pirates, Devon Mannon was third (45.3 seconds) and Journey Shells fifth (46.49) in the 300-meter hurdles, Gabe Hefley was 11th (58.97), Burr Jaynes was 41st (1:10.84) and Landyn Johnson 43rd (1:14.14) in the 400-meter dash, Mannon was 14th (12.37 seconds) and Hefley 30th (12.9) in the 100-meter dash, Mannon was 14th (26.29) and Jaynes 18th (27.17) in the 200-meter dash and Johnson was 31st in the 800-meter run (2:49.64).
The Pirates’ 1,600-meter relay team of Hefley, Jaynes, Mannon and Shells was sixth (4:03.21).
For the Central Lady Tigers, Koda Robbins was second (1:04.64), Paris Campbell sixth (1:07.67), Kinly Lovell 19th (1:15.5) and Xhayla Mosby 28th (1:26.5) in the 400-meter dash, Jhaselyn Gonzalez was seventh (20.71 seconds) and Alyvia Warner eighth (20.9) in the 100-meter hurdles, Ayrland Jiles was 10th in the long jump (13-1.5), Ryleigh Pierce was 11th (7:19.75) and Rileigh Ford 14th (7:34.35) in the 1,600-meter run, Keeley Poindexter was 14th in the 200-meter dash (31.69), Jiles was 16th (14.93), Lovell 17th (14.97), Nevaeh Pollard 35th (16.28) and Polina Lukasa 48th (21.73) in the 100-meter dash and Cambree Bair was 17th (3:07.46) and Gracie Thompson 19th (3:10.57) in the 800-meter run.
The Central girls placed in all four relay events, with two of them finishing fourth.
Thompson, Bair, Campbell and Avery Warner were fourth in the 3,200-meter relay (11:38.03), while the 1,600-meter relay team of Robbins, Avery Warner, Alyvia Warner and Campbell was fourth (4:37.25).
Bair, Jiles, Avery Warner and Thompson were fifth in the 400-meter relay (56.29 seconds), while Campbell, Robbins and both Warners were sixth in the 800-meter relay (1:57.12).
As for the Central Tigers, Braxin Goodson was runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles (44.34 seconds), Gavin Randolph was third (55.04) and Brycen Chandler-Eisman was 33rd (1:06.23) in the 400-meter dash, Zachary Comer was seventh in the discus (109-3), Nathan Vann was eighth (12.1), Dillon Miller 28th (12.87) and Josh Marino 34th (13.17) in the 100-meter dash, Vann was ninth (25.53) and Chandler-Eisman 31st (29.91) in the 200-meter dash and Vann was 30th in the 800-meter run (2:48.17).
As for relays for the Tigers, the 800-meter relay quartet of Goodson, Vann, Randolph and Joseph Lee was fourth (1:38.27), while Goodson, Randolph, Lee and Miller were fifth in the 1,600-meter relay (3:43.59).
As for the Roland Lady Rangers, Haven Freeman was third (13.73 seconds) and Mira Reagan was ninth (14.18) in the 100-meter dash, Brooklyn Hallbauer was sixth (30.39) and Kalee Campbell was 31st (34.24) in the 200-meter dash, Julianna Trujillo was sixth (27-11) and Danielle McElhaney was eighth (27-4) in the shot put, Maddie Whisenhunt was 25th (1:20.73) and Anna McElhaney was 26th (1:22.2) in the 400-meter dash and Abby Bower was 26th in the 800-meter run (3:19.61).
As for Roland girls’ relays, the 400-meter relay team of Reagan, Hallbauer, Halle Freeman and Haven Freeman was runner-up (53.35 seconds), while the same quartet was fourth in the 800-meter relay (1:55.67).
As for the Roland Rangers, Dalton Crossno was second (45-7) and Logen Thomas fourth (38-8) in the shot put, while the Rangers had a 3-4-5 finish in the discus as Joseph Stone was third (119-8), Tyson Williams was fourth (111-2) and Braxton Prewett was fifth (110-7). Uriah Phillips was third in the long jump (19-2), Paul Johnson was fourth (24.64 seconds), Trevor Lasiter fifth (25.05) and Phillips 11th (25.83) in the 200-meter dash, Landon Killer was fourth (5:09.45) and Kyle Bradley 16th (6:34) in the 1,600-meter run, Killer was fifth (2:15.91) and Bradley 29th (2:47.17) in the 800-meter run, Paul Johnson was fifth (11.74), Lasiter 10th (12.15) and Jack Johnson 18th (12.57) in the 100-meter dash, Billy McElhaney was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (20.53) and 10th in the 300-meter hurdles (52.11), Josh Bower was 17th (1:00.59) and Jack Johnson 18th (1:00.88) in the 400-meter dash.
The Rangers’ 400-meter relay team of Lateevis Jones, Lasiter, Phillips and Paul Johnson was fifth (46.27 seconds), while the same foursome placed sixth in the 800-meter relay (1:40.46).
As for Vian Wolverines individuals, Peyton Johnson was sixth (36-2) and Nathan Cheater was ninth (35-9) in the shot put, Austin Wilson was seventh in the 400-meter dash (58.01 seconds), Ethan Bullock was eighth (25.49) and Jacob Brannick 16th (26.52) in the 200-meter dash, Bullock was 10th in the long jump (16-10.5), Tristan Wiley was 14th in the discus (92-8), Brannick was 20th (12.62), Bullock was 22nd (12.67) and Ashton Robinson was 50th (14:01) in the 100-meter dash.
As for Vian Lady Wolverines individuals, Annie Neal tied for fourth in the long jump (13-5.5), Tina Rautenberg was ninth in the 100-meter hurdles (20.92 seconds) and 18th in the 400-meter dash (1:15.18), Neal was 13th (31.61) and Brooke Byers was 25th (33.09) in the 200-meter dash, Aubrey Gant was 18th (3:09.38) and Carmen Rautenberg was 20th (3:12.18) in the 800-meter run and Ayden Crittendenwas 24th in the 400-meter dash (1:20.59).
On the girls’ side for the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors, Cheyanne Herrier was fourth in the 3,200-meter run (13:47.94) and eighth in the 1,600-meter run (6:41.6), Abby Pense tied for fourth (13-5.5) and Bridgette Baer was eighth (13-5.5) in the long jump, Teralynn Colton was eighth (1:00.46), Abby Pense was ninth (1:01.61) and Shannon Pense 12th (1:04.65) in the 300-meter hurdles, Shannon Pense was 16th in the 100-meter hurdles (23.44 seconds), Baer was 21st in the 100-meter dash (15.11) and Abbie Patterson was 28th (3:21.38) and Hailey Shanks was 30th (3:37.04) in the 800-meter run.
Herrier, Baer, Colton and Abby Pense were seventh in the 3,200-meter relay (12:32.37).
As for the Webbers Falls Warriors, Eli Hefflin was 26th in the 800-meter run (2:41.72).
The Sallisaw teams were slated to run in Tuesday’s Vinita Invitational before joining the Muldrow, Central, Vian and Gore teams at Thursday’s Warner Invitational that will begin at 10 a.m.
The Roland track teams will run in Friday’s Mounds Invitational.
On Friday, the Vian, Gore, Webbers Falls and Gans track teams will run in the Porter Consolidated Invitational which will begin at 10 a.m.
