Sallisaw golfer ends up 2nd at Roland Girls Invitational

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Sallisaw Lady Diamonds golfer Avery Haywood ended up tied for first place, but ended up finishing as the runnerup medalist after losing a scorecard playoff after shooting a 78 at Monday’s Roland Girls Invitational, which took place at Ben Geren Golf Course.

Two other Lady Diamonds golfers participated as C.C. Pearson shot a 132, with Zurri Knight four shots back at 136. The host Lady Rangers, who ended their season Monday, had all three of their golfers participate in their own tournament. Izzy O’Neal shot an 118 to finish 15th, Jaclyn Harrison carded a 130 to place 20th, with Lilly Medicine Bird two shots behind at 132 to end up 21st.
