Announcements of upcoming events for non-profit organizations and events in Sequoyah County may be delivered to Your TIMES in several different ways. They may be mailed to or hand delivered to Your TIMES at 111 N. Oak St. in Sallisaw. Events may be telephoned in by calling (918) 775-4433, or they may be emailed to news@seqcotimes.com or from a special form on Your TIMES website at www.sequoyahcountytimes.com.

Uniontown Community BBQ, begins at 11 a.m. All you can eat. No alcoholic beverages please. Menu includes Smoked chicken quarters, smoked pulled pork, smoked bologna, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, cold drinks, desserts. Adults $10; Children 6-10 $5; to go plates $10; under 6 free. Free crochet classes 2 to 4 p.m. at 3700 W. Cherokee Ave., Blue Ribbon Chapel, Sallisaw, with the Bizzy Beez. Classes held every Thursday. Buffington annual Bean Supper, 5 to 7 p.m., Sequoyah County Fairgrounds, E. Redwood, Sallisaw. Menu includes brown beans, chili, fried potatoes, chicken and dumplings, coleslaw, poke salad, cornbread, homemade desserts. Adults $10, $ 6 children 5 to 10 children 4 and under free. There will be a silent auction. Everyone welcome.

SAT. MAY 18

Spring Cruise Night, 5 to 11 p.m., downtown Gore. Sponsored by the Town of Gore, The Gore Street Kings and Gore Chamber of Commerce.

Tenkiller Park annual Kids Fishing Clinic, Vian City Lake, 10 a.m. registration, 11:30 a.m. fishing starts. Must bring live bait and fishing pole for each child. Only small number to borrow.

SUNDAY, MAY 19

Sequoyah County Historical Society meeting, 2 p.m., at their museum, 200 E. Creek, Sallisaw. Harold Trisler will discuss the life and murder of U.S. Deputy marshal, Frank Dalton, and his book “Finding the Lost Daltons.” A reception will follow. The public is invited.
