3 more Sallisaw wrestlers qualify for USA Nationals
Sallisaw wrestler Cole Mayfield won’t be alone when he represents the Black Diamonds next month at the 2024 USA Nationals in Fargo, N.D.
Three other Sallisaw Black Diamonds also qualified for the 2024 USA Nationals — Cason Craft, Brody Mills and Bodie Adams.
Craft was one of two Sallisaw wrestlers who were crowned a state champion in February, winning the 106-pound state title in the Class 4A State Tournament.
Mayfield, who qualified at last weekend’s Southern Plains Regional Tournament at Mulvane, Kan., was Sallisaw’s other state champion after winning the 150-pound state crown in the Class 4A State Tournament after he did the same thing in February 2023 at the Class 3A State Tournament as a Warner Eagle.
Adams was the Class 4A state runnerup at 165 pounds, while Mills was a Class 4A state qualifier at 157 pounds.
